I just checked out your link and I think what you did is fantastic. You listed some great people and gave a great explanation for each one of them. That is the best way of recommending people on Twitter that I’ve seen.

Hello Rob, I have taken the #FF a step further and have spent the time to actually not only practice what I preach, but my writing skills. My list started back in July of 2009 and I have managed to write almost 10 posts. Each cover 15 people I recommend. I’ve been doing this for a while. Even if I’m doing a list of people to follow, I at least offer a REASON to group them, how I know them, why they’re great, etc. Even if it’s just “fabulous foodies for #ff.” Seriously — not that hard.

I basically have given up lately on the whole FF thing as well due to the fact that it’s become not much more than a session of mutual back-slapping. However, if someone were to give up listing a bunch of random names to recommend and just give a reason, I could see it as becoming something much more than it currently is.

Great post! I have really started to hate FF and have noticed that a lot of the people I follow have abandoned it. I think this is a great way to make it more useful.
